Atelier Art Program
Impressionism and Modern Art
Drawing and Painting Studies 2018-19

After School Art Program

Students will understand the elements of art as they become familiar with the principles of Modern Art. Impressionism can be considered the first distinctly modern movement in painting. Developing in Paris in the 1860s, its influence spread throughout Europe and eventually the United States. The style called for many Impressionist artists to move from the studio to the streets and countryside, painting en plein air. Students will identify Impressionist works and artists as they create a collection of artwork inspired by the famous painters of the time. In addition, class includes story time, classic music appreciation, field trip, student exhibit and interaction with community artists.

These class are taught by Professional Artist and Gallery Director, Raquel Hinojosa.
